Abstract

Smoking is one of the major causes of mortality worldwide. Smokers are more prone to pulmonary infections resulting acute respiratory failure. The association between smoking and the recent outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) should be estimated to take timely precautionary measures.
