Abstract

Online education is one of the primary modes of instruction during the Covid-19 Pandemic and the transition to the new normal. This learning has already been adopted at several educational levels and across a number of platforms. Using a mixed-method research design, the study unveiled the students' readiness for online learning at Quirino State University, Cabarroguis Campus. Thus, this research specifically aimed to determine the readiness level of students for online learning. Further, it also sought to identify the factors that affect the students' readiness in online learning. A total of 125 individuals were randomly selected to participate in the online survey. The study's findings revealed that students' preparedness level was poor, indicating that students are not fully equipped or ready for online learning. Furthermore, the factors that influenced students' readiness level include 1) Internet connectivity issues; 2) Lack of technological devices; 3) Financial problems, 4) Power interruptions; and 5) Limited knowledge and skills in using technological devices. Moreover, the results of the study demand for thorough and complete evaluation of the university's readiness to offer educational programs that require more than just the standard requirements. Moving forward, the institution requires a comprehensive set of norms and procedures based on an innovative pedagogical structure. Further, it is suggested that the university should review and enhance existing policies for online learning.
